Prof. Dr. Carlos Estrela's Biography

Carlos Estrela is Professor and Chair of the Endodontic Department at the University of Goias - UFGO, Goiania, Brazil. He received his MSc in Endodontology in 1990, and PhD in Endodontology in 1994 at the University of São Paulo, Brazil. In 1997 he obtained the position of Free Lecturer from the University of Sao Paulo, in Ribeirao Preto, SP, Brazil. Dr Estrela has been published in the field of Endodontics and Dentistry, having authored 9 books in Dentistry in Portuguese, with 2 translated into Spanish and 1 into English. He has published over 150 journal papers and 130 chapters in books and has lectured extensively in Brazil and throughout Latin America. He participates in the Post-graduate Programs in Dentistry at Masters and PhD levels of the Federal University of Goias and the Federal University of Uberlandia, in Brazil. He is a member of the Editorial Board of several journals in Dentistry, including the prestigious International Endodontic Journal. His areas of interest in research are Oral Microbiology, Endodontic irrigation and medication, Endodontic techniques and Imaging Diagnosis related to Endodontology.
